Trade Safety

Tips and protections to help you trade safely on TradeSwap

🔎 Compare Item Value

Scammers often use prices that are far below normal market value to create urgency.

🔐 Online Safety

  • Never share OTP codes or verification links
  • Never share your password
  • Never send ID cards, passports, or licenses
  • Avoid sending private photos or videos
  • Be cautious if someone pushes you to move chats outside the app
TradeSwap will never ask for your password, OTP, or private documents.

💳 Money & Payment Safety

  • Never send money to “secure” a trade
  • Do not pay delivery or verification fees
  • Do not trust screenshots as proof of payment
  • Avoid links claiming to be escrow or payment platforms
Red flag phrases include:
“Act fast” • “Someone else is waiting” • “This expires today”

📍 Meeting in Person

  • Meet in public, busy locations only
  • Prefer malls, banks, cafés, police stations
  • Avoid homes, empty streets, or night meetings
  • Inform someone you trust before meeting
If a meeting location feels uncomfortable, cancel the trade.

🤝 During the Swap

  • Inspect items carefully before exchanging
  • Do not rush or feel pressured
  • Walk away if terms suddenly change
  • You are allowed to cancel at any time

🚨 Trust Your Instincts

  • Feeling uneasy is a valid reason to stop
  • You do not owe anyone a trade
  • Emergency Mode exists to protect you — use it if needed
Leaving a trade is safer than explaining a mistake later.
